Migrate a Portfolio account from a Business Profile to a Personal Profile

If your Portfolio was automatically migrated or built on a Business Profile, you can now easily migrate your Portfolio sites from a Business Profile to a Personal Profile directly from within your Portfolio account at portfolio.adobe.com.

Before you begin

  1. Ensure that you can successfully log into your Business Profile at adobe.com or portfolio.adobe.com – you need the ability to authenticate into (sign in to) the Business Profile. 
  2. Ensure that your Business Profile is linked to a Personal account, not an Enterprise/Federated ID. 
  3. Be sure to complete the migration before the Business Profile is *CLOSED and assets are permanently deleted. 

* When an account administrator cancels or removes a Creative Cloud plan and the Business Profile does not have entitlements, you can no longer log into that Business Profile, including Adobe Portfolio.

Migrate the account

  1. Go to portfolio.adobe.com and sign in with your Business Profile
  2. Click on one of your sites
  3. Click on Settings in the left panel
  4. Click on Account & Region
  5. Under Use Another Adobe ID, select Use Personal Adobe ID
  6. Type in the new Adobe ID you wish to migrate your site(s) to
  7. Click Continue and then Done

After you migrate

  • If you have multiple sites under the Business Profile, all sites will be migrated to the Personal account. You do not need to initiate a migration for each site under your Business profile. 
  • Adobe Portfolio is a paid service. Publishing is not supported for Creative Cloud Free membership accounts. If you don’t already have a Creative Cloud plan under the Personal account and would like to keep your site published, please purchase any of the following plans: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html 
  • Migrating a Portfolio account does not migrate any other assets on your Business Profile. For more information, please see: Transfer assets across accounts or profiles
  • If you imported Behance projects, that connection is broken until the Behance profile is also migrated to the new Personal Profile.

⚠️ Important information:

  • You can only migrate a Business Profile while logged into the account.
  • You can only migrate a Business Profile to a Personal account if: 
    • The Business Profile and Personal Profile are under the same email. 
    • Both Business and Personal profiles are linked. 
  • If your Business Profile is linked to a Federated ID, the Portfolio account cannot be migrated. 
  • Migrating does not combine sites from both accounts. You can only exchange between accounts, which means that all sites connected to the School account will be connected to the Personal account, and vice versa.
