Pages in Portfolio are built from modules. Each module is a block of content you add, arrange, and style individually. This article is a map of what each one does and where to read more.
Image and media modules
- Image - a single image. See Add images and photo grids.
- Photo Grid - a group of images in a grid layout.
- Video, audio, and embeds - content hosted elsewhere, added by URL or embed code. See Add video, audio, and embedded content.
- Lightroom photo - a single image, chosen from a synced Lightroom album instead of uploaded. See Add a Lightroom photo.
Text modules
- Text - headings and body copy.
Navigation and action modules
- Buttons and links - send visitors to another page or an external site. See Add buttons, links, and downloads.
- Social icons - links to your profiles. Social icons can also be set separately in your navigation, footer, and masthead, depending on your theme. See Add social media icons and links.
- Contact form - let visitors send you a message from your site. See Add a contact form.
Elements that are not modules
Some parts of a page look like modules but are not, so you will not find them in the list of modules you can add:
- Page title and info - the title and description at the top of a page are built into the Page Header, not added as a text module. See Edit page headers, info, and title.
- Collections - a Collection is a type of page that groups related projects together, not a module you place on a page. See Use Collections to organize work.
- Masthead - the masthead sits at the top of your site and is part of your theme, so it is set once for the whole site rather than added page by page. See Add a masthead.
- More in this Collection - this is a setting you turn on for a page inside a Collection, not a module you add. See Show related pages.
- Lightroom album - importing a Lightroom album creates a page, not a module. The album's images are uploaded into a grid on that page. The Lightroom photo module is a separate thing, and places one synced image. See Sync Lightroom albums to your portfolio.
Modules are the same in every theme
Switching themes does not change which modules you can add. The content you added with a module stays on the page, but the styling applied to it is stripped and replaced by the new theme's styling.
