There are several ways to make something on your site clickable — a button, an email link, or a download link. This guide covers all three.
Create an email (mailto) link
A mailto link is clickable text that automatically opens a new email in the visitor's default email client, such as Outlook or Gmail. You can add mailto links to:
- Text Modules
- Image Modules
- Navigation Links
Mailto URL/link:
mailto:email address (no spaces)
For example: mailto:support@adobeportfolio.zendesk.com
The external page or direct email link will be located under "Manage Content" in case you'd like to edit this in the future.
Troubleshooting Mailto links
1) Make sure that the mail client is set to allow mailto links.
2) If the mailto link is set to open in the current window vs a new tab (via the checkbox in the link dialog), it will mostly just show a blank white page when the link is clicked on in preview. The link should work everywhere else though, including the published site.
Add a button
With the Button module you can add a button that links out to internal or external content.
To add a button:
- Click the + icon
- Click Button
- Hover over the button
- Click the pencil icon
- Click Edit Button
In the left panel, you can:
- Change the button Text
- Link To External or Internal URL

Add a download link
To create a download link, you can use Dropbox and even add a force download URL. You can use the following guide to have your dropbox link automatically download:
https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/force-download'
You can have this URL link out from:
- An image
- Navigation title
- Text
- Button
